Journey of Faith

Who is Faith Community Church?

We are a Christian community of disciples… real people, who LOVE God, LOVE others and follow Jesus in service by seeking to grow the Kingdom of God.

What are we about?

Step 1: Bringing People to God
Through our worship services, events and personal/individual interaction, we encourage non-believers and believers alike, to accept Christ as their Savior, and grow in their love, trust and knowledge of God.

Step 2: Building People of God
Through our small groups, Sunday school, regular fellowship events, prayer groups, etc., we encourage continued personal growth in the love of God while fostering love for one another.

Step 3: Serving People for God
Serve God by serving others.  We participate in one or more of our ministry areas to bring people to God, and support them as they proceed through their Journey of Faith.

Pastor Michael Hayward and Family

Pastor Michael Hayward is a native Californian, born in San Jose and raised primarily in Novato. Upon graduation from Novato High School in 1989, Michael enlisted in the United States Marine Corps reserve, served six years (1989-1995) including a nine month tour overseas during Desert Storm.

During his high school years, Michael – raised in the church – began to question the necessity of religion and eventually walked away from the church. After six years, nagging instability, the emptiness of the party scene, a failed engagement, and a lack of purpose and direction opened Michael’s eyes to his need, not for religion, but for an intimate relationship with the Living God.

Michael took his first steps on his renewed journey of faith in 1992 when he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. As he has grown in his relationship with God, in his trust of the Lord Jesus, and in his understanding and application of the scriptures he has served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon, and a youth leader. Sensing the call to ministry in 2000, Michael enrolled at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley. In May of 2005, Michael was called and ordained as the pastor of Faith Community Church.

Michael, his wife Patricia, and his two children live in Cotati, CA and serve Faith Community church in Rohnert Park. In addition to preaching at his home church, Michael has shared his message of hope, healing, and purpose in Christ at youth retreats, in other churches, and seminary classes.
